San Blas Catamaran Santana

Sailing the San Blas is a truly memorable experience, but with San Blas Catamaran Santana it can be an extraordinary positive experience.

San Blas Catamaran Santana has two great captains who take alternating trips, which ensures you an always well-rested and attentive captain on watch.

Both captains are greatly experienced and welcome travelers who are ready for a nature experience out of the ordinary and offer a pleasant & safe environment for you to enjoy your days:

  • Relaxing & Sunbathing
  • Sailing & Kayaking
  • Island exploring
  • Fishing & Snorkeling

Gisbert and his captains are happy to show you the best of what the San Blas Islands has to offer from the best islands to good snorkeling and sailing tips.

San Blas Catamaran Santana is famous for its great cooking and the boat keeps a fixed schedule of departures that rarely sees any delays.

With a huge space on the deck you will have plenty space to throw your feet up, find a relaxing position and dig into your favorite book, just gaze at the picture-perfect sunset or explore a multitude of galaxies and stars overhead more clear & vivid than you have ever seen them before

The captains of the San Blas Catamaran Santana always have your comfort, safety and well being in mind. This is why they in the windy season prefer a slightly longer route during the crossing. This adds a few hours to the sailing time but makes a huge difference in your comfort.

The “Gizzy” Captain

Captain Gisbert “Gizzy” Kroczeck also goes by the Spanish nickname of “Gilberto”. He was born in 1969 in Bautzen, Germany. At the age of 22, he started sailing in the lakes of Germany. He later moved to the north of Germany where he started open ocean sailing. He holds a professional worldwide cruising license for sailboats.

Gisbert is a very skilled sailor with great experience in sailing the Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic ocean. In 2006 he bought a small 29-foot yellow catamaran called “Purring Cat” in Trinidad and Tobago and has since then been sailing in the Caribbean. Since 2011 Gispert has been sailing around Panama – San Blas – Colombia.

Gisbert has a great passion for sailing and takes great pride in keeping his boat in good condition. He is a very friendly captain that willingly shares stories from his adventures at sea.

Privately he loves snorkeling, fishing and obviously Santana’s music. He is passionate about making food and is a good cook, especially infamous for his Spaghetti Bolognese.

Gisbert speaks German, English, and Spanish fluently.

One of the best trips I have ever been on. Went on the February 5th trip from Panama to Cartagena. Gisbert and Luis made this trip very comfortable and memorable. Luis cooked delicious food and Gisbert ensured things went smoothly and seemed to have an efficient system for everything. 3 days in the beautiful san blas islands snorkeling, suntanning, playing volleyball, and relaxing and a 36 hour ocean crossing. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing time at the Santana. The crew, capitain Jose and Luis were really helpfull and make the trip fantastic! Every day we got other things to eat, fresh fish and lobster from the ocean! We had time to explore the islands on the San Blas. We were with a nice group of people (17 people + Jose & Luis).
I already travel for 5 months but the sailingtrip on the Santana is the best thing what I have done so far. If you are in Panama or in Colombia you should really do this trip, you will not regret it!
